    ITEMS + PETS - • •

[•] - can be conjured up.

[•] - can be affected by her telekinesis.

    • scarves - three long scarves knitted by her mother when she was still an infant. despite her on-and-off attitude towards her family, she holds onto these woolen garments dearly. all of them are striped, one in blue and yellow, one in black and white, and one in white and periwinkle. the ends are frayed and irregularly cut with wear and tear.

    • backpack - a black backpack, simple as that. it's her favorite bag.

    • duffel bags [•] - two large bags bigger than she is, colored in wild splatters and stripes of vibrant reds and blues. not as fashionable, but they can carry more knives.

    • ketch [•] - a boat with polished and lavishly decorated crimson wood and sails decorated with colorful flower patterns. stolen to run- er, sail away from home.

    • small cooking equipment [•] [•] - spoons, forks, knives, whisks, pots, pans, toasters, small grills, more knives- she owns everything except a microwave and larger equipment.

    • knives and daggers [•] [•] - her largest item collection, made up of weapons of various sizes, shapes, edges, and points. she is most skilled with these.

    • dao [•] [•] - different kinds of the traditional chinese weapon. she dislikes using them due to them being typically bigger and heavier than regular knives, but she is decent at fighting with them, especially butterfly dao.

    • spears, polearms, and regular swords [•] [•] - she hates using these, but her father taught her to use it anyways as part of the family tradition.

    • flying claws + chain whip [•] [•] - two items that wei enjoys fighting with. also two items that rely almost entirely on wild, hopefully-lucky swings.

[pet] bao - a dark gray chinese giant salamander that has grown to 5.3 feet long, a rather large size for the species. taken into the family when her father picked it up from an assassination mission near a zoo, and was going to simply be sold until the young wei threw a tantrum until she was allowed to keep it. the two are close, but bicker quite often despite not understanding each other's words.

"Bao, goddammit, get off the boat-!"

What would've been a peaceful morning on the coast was interrupted by hissing, bickering, and the creaking and rocking of Wei's boat as it dangerously teetered while the femme attempted to heave the giant salamander onto the sands. Her paws couldn't get a good grip on the rubbery skin of her pet, and every time she nearly managed to haul him off the ship, he'd slip out of her hold and crawl backwards with a whine of complaint. At least she had a soft landing as she stumbled backwards and toppled onto her back from the retaliation, her beloved woolen scarves piled onto the beach behind her. Also piled onto the beach were her two duffels bags and backpack, but those would make for a less comfortable cushion considering they were stuffed with all her weapons and equipment. One last muffled thump sounded out as the amphibian let out a cry and rolled onto the coast, the two both grumbling in some form or way as they rose to their feet. With a sigh, Wei picked up the ropes she had hastily tied onto her ketch, doing her best to heave it upwards and trap it in the sand, turning her gaze to the island she had stopped at.

It was quite pretty, she thought, seeming like the kind of perfect tropical getaway that was seen in vacation pamphlets and movies. That, of course, wasn't where she had heard of this place. A little rumor or two could travel a long way, after all, and one of the many destinations of that journey happened to be her own ears. From the tidbit of information about some sort of cool pirate group, she'd formulated a plan to run away from home, sneaking out of the house and "borrowing" one of her family's boats while dad was busy and mom was asleep. It had taken her a while to find the territory of the Skulls, but she finally found what seemed to be the biggest island she came across so far, one where she could see a ship much bigger than her own off in the distance. Being a pirate sounded awesome: sailing across the seven seas, exploring uncharted lands, engaging in mighty battles against deep sea monsters and other gangs, looting caves and chests for glorious treasures... she could actually let loose and have some fun if this place was what she imagined it to be. It would be so much better than being trained in combat by her father yet being strictly prohibited to fight for no reason whatsoever, it seemed. Pushing away bitter memories as soon as they came, the feline huffed, turning back to the situation at hand.

All she had to do was wait, right? Wei plopped herself down, huffing again as Bao barked and nudged her side with his flat head. Perhaps her pet could sense the nervousness lingering underneath her excitement and fatigue from travelling, the little signal meant to ask her to reconsider her choice. A small smile crossed her maws, and she sighed with both exasperation and fondness, tapping the salamander on the head, mumbling, "Ei, we're here now. No going back." She paused after her words before speaking again, raising her voice to call out to anyone nearby. "Hello?... I'd like to join the Skulls, if I'm in the right place. My name is Wei." Coming across a stranger with packed bags and a small boat silently waiting at the coast could either be self-explanatory or confusing, and she didn't want to stir up any trouble yet or make things awkward. As she waited for someone to come along, she sincerely hoped that they wouldn't be hostile; she was desperate to join this pirate group, not having any place to go next if she was turned away, and as much as she would love to have a sparring match, she wasn't in the mood after sailing for who-knows-how-long.

//i was originally going to put Noelle in the Skulls, so ever since i decided on CC instead, i've been tempted to throw another charrie in here, and now seemed like a good time to do that

    • Wei's ears pricked up at the slight scuffling noises from somewhere down the beach, and her head turned to let her dark eyes scan over the sands, her smile growing as she spotted the ferret. With Bao as her pet for the majority of her life, she quite liked amphibians and their scaly lookalikes, but the sight of the little creature darting over to her forced her to stifle a giggle with one smoky black paw raised to her mouth. It was kinda cute, to be honest. Perhaps such a statement was simply her getting caught off guard from seeing the sleek mammal on an island where there were supposed to be scary pirates, but it was the first thought that came to mind. With her worries for the group being hostile gone - what could a ferret do, really? then again, she was rather petite as well, but she had three bags full of weapons -, she moved her paw from in front of her maws and lowered it back down, speaking with a bright glint in her eyes. "Ah, okay, good! For the tour... I'd like to be shown the basics. Where I can sleep and store my stuff, that is. If there's any food and drinks on the way, I'll pick up some!" She wanted to see all the exciting stuff by herself, during a time where she wasn't a bit tired like now.

Bao whined at the mention of food, and the feline turned to the giant salamander, sticking her tongue out at him. "You don't get anything today for nearly tipping over the boat. Every five minutes, if I may add. You need less weight on you, if anything." Her pet squealed again, producing a strange sound much like the crying of an infant, lightly headbutting Wei in the legs in protest only to be met with a prod in return. With that, the femme returned her attention to Xylia, ignoring the hoarse hissing of the amphibian while rocking on her toes with her light smile returning. Wait, Xyl was the captain-? Although her surprise didn't make it into her expression apart from widening her eyes slightly, she definitely felt it. She didn't expect the little ferret to be the leader of a pirate group with rumors surrounding them. A bit of respect sparked up in her; if she was the captain while seeming so unintimidating, then she must actually be a really good fighter or something along the lines of that, able to conceal her skills with her friendly appearance. "W-well," she finally replied, a tiny stutter over her first words, "it's nice to meet you, captain!"

    //alrighty, thanks!!

    • Life here so far was delightful; she loved the environment, and with total freedom to explore it, every experience brought her more satisfaction than she could ever wish for. If she were to go back home, she was sure that she would be bored to death. Of course, there was nothing that was forcing her to return to her family, so the thought rarely even crossed her mind. Living on a ship was quite interesting as well, and it was much more fun than a regular old house, enough fun to make her oblivious to the meeting going on until she heard her name. Quickly, she bounded over, struggling to keep her monochrome scarf properly shrugged over her shoulders as she skidded to a stop, ears perking up as she listened.

She didn't understand much until the end, as she knew few other members and had no knowledge of alliances and ranks and deals and such. Though confused, she did her best to take note of the information since it might be useful once she figured out exactly who were all the names and other group mentioned. The feline's mouth curved into a little smile once Xylia was finished talking for now, voice peppy yet a bit hushed from hesitation as she paused for a short moment before speaking up. "I can take some gift baskets if you give me directions to our allies' territories!" Might as well get to know them, right? She might even come across a pretty cool place, if anything could top what she had seen so far.

all the stuff for the territory sounds p nice!! as for ranks, perhaps the crew could be divided into a few equal groups that are expected to work in harmony during raids, trading, sailing trips, etc? they would work like separate little pirate gangs but would still be closely united with the rest of the skulls, it would just be a way of further organizing the hierarchy and the circulation of work rewards. perhaps when someone completes the trials for adulthood/piratehood, they get to pick a group or are assigned to one, and they start at the bottom of it, doing more brute work rather than organizing the endeavors. the more experienced members of the group and the leaders would receive a bigger share of the rewards collected from expeditions and stealing, too. the leaders of these little groups would hold a hp position equal/slightly above/slightly below the cannoneers, i think, and perhaps there would be a rank in charge of overseeing these leaders and making sure that everything goes smoothly within and between the groups. tbh this seems a bit complex and unnecessary now that I've typed it up but i'll still throw it out there if anyone likes it or wants to improve/add on to it

for traditions, I think some sort of involvement with ocean creatures might be cool. whales, dolphins, and perhaps other creatures could possibly be used to aid in transportation purposes in exchange for being protected from danger, and maybe sharks could be used for tracking down ocean prey or invaders approaching from the seas. getting more involved in trading would be good, too, and the skulls could end up organizing what they need from others and what they have in large stocks as they explore the resources of other islands. as for the trials, perhaps they could involve being sent to unexplored/dangerous parts of islands to retrieve the best treasure that can be found or just involve several islands in whatever way?? idk

    • Wei simply nodded on as Xylia spoke, engaging in a little game of seeing who could subtly prod the other the most with Bao, giving him an exasperated smile and glare before the ferret asked her about the giant salamander's name. "Bao," she began, nudging his head back enough to prompt him to wail like an infant. "I should have named him 'big baby' or something along the lines of that. Suits him better. Don't leave any food near him, by the way." She shuddered slightly as she remembered the time when she spilled his meal over the knife she was using to neatly slice it up, angrily yelling and pounding on Bao's neck as the stubborn amphibian attempted to eat it, both of the two ending up with several cuts and a lecture from their father. That wasn't a fun memory, no, but it brought a light chuckle to the femme, at least.

With that, she bounded after the captain, intrigue shining in her gaze at the mention of a dangerous temple. That warning did the exact opposite of its intentions; if she could manage to find it, she would definitely peek inside. Maybe there would be an ancient treasure guarded by some evil beast or vengeful spirit or dead pirate captain! Glancing over towards the vast territory beyond, her thoughts were flooded with her imagination filling in the blanks of the vague information about this mysterious temple, Bao barking hoarsely and grumbling as Wei bumped into his leg.

    • Here she was: her first stop. Wei was unsure of how long it would take her to travel from ally to ally, especially since she was navigating to several unknown territories with only a map and a few directions to guide her, so she resisted her strong urge to look around, remaining seated at the border. Of course, she hadn't taken Bao with her, since the giant salamander would be an impediment to her deliveries, being rather heavy, stubborn, and annoying in his ways. She had transported one of her two duffel bags, storing the gift baskets inside it, keeping it afloat in midair next to her as she travelled. It was all quite exciting, really; it felt like she was on some great expedition or something. She needed to focus now, though, so she picked out one basket and laid it besides her, calling out, "Hello! I'm from the Skulls, and I'm here to deliver a gift basket! Name's Wei!" Short and simple. Inside the basket laid whatever assorted snacks she could pick up, some shiny jewelry and coins that looked kinda valuable, and a few spears and swords from herself. The femme was eager to get rid of a few of the annoyingly heavy weapons from her massive collection, anyways.

    • This place sounded pretty cool to Wei when she initially heard the name of their ally. Quite mysterious, if you asked her. She had no time to sneak around and explore yet, though; she was here to deliver a gift basket. Still having more places to traverse to, she quickly unzipped her telekinesis-suspended duffel bag, pulling out a basket filled to and over the brim with larger weapons such as swords and polearms, some fruits, jewelry, and a few nice little bundles of colorful flowers she managed to find lying around. Hopefully they would like the gift. "Skulls member here, name's Wei! I have a gift basket to deliver!" A loud clatter sounded out as the basket thumped onto the ground next to the smiling Wei, the femme curling her tail in slight impatience as she waited at the border.

    • Wei's face had initially been widened by amazement and surprise as she approached Colouredclan, her gaze drifting up towards the colossal rock pillars towering over her and disappearing into the heights of the sky. If only she had time to climb them... oh well. Maybe next time, which would probably end up being pretty soon. For now, she had to deliver one of her last gift baskets. Using telekinesis to pull a basket out of her duffel bag, she lowered it on the ground, quickly making sure all the contents were there and intact. Snacks, blades, shiny, pretty objects, some coins, the same as the other ones. Clearing her throat, the femme called out, "Skulls member here to deliver a gift basket! Name's Wei!" With her concise introduction given, she took a seat, waiting for Colouredclanners to arrive. She figured she needed to ask for permission to later climb the mountainous pillars of stone.

s orry for my recent inactivity!! i keep forgetting wei exists, i swear I'll get around to posting tomorrow

i don't really remember scarclan (not sure if I was on the site when they existed?? i was gone from mid-2013 to mid-2017, i think) but i'm cool w/ merging with them!

    • Whether she had passed out or simply fallen asleep was unknown to Wei; she, too, had disobeyed orders, surprisingly excited as she had attempted to keep her balance as the violent storm rocked the ship. Eventually, though, she ducked down into the area below, partly because it had been starting to become extremely difficult to not be knocked right off of the boat, partly because she wasn't going to leave Bao alone with her weapons for too long. After that, her memories were a little hazy, but she thought she most likely just fell asleep. The dull aches pulsing through her neck and the back of her head whenever she tilted her head were probably just from accidentally hitting her head on the wall or something. Hopefully. Passing out from hitting her head a bit too hard would've been a bit embarrassing.

Forgetting such trivial pains, she joined the small group down at the shore, making sure to check up on her still-asleep pet before hopping onto the sands with a light smile. "Good mor-ning!" came her greeting, words interrupted by a slight shiver coursing through her body. It was cold here, something she was starting to slowly become unfamiliar with due to spending time in the main island, though her old home did have harsh winters that she could tolerate. It wasn't her favorite weather, but it was bearable, at least. As she looked up towards the stranger ahead of them, her dark eyes widened a bit, the femme blinking in surprise. They looked like some beast that was supposed to be extinct, and that was definitely enough to catch her immediate attention from that point on. "Ah, we're the Skulls! Name's Wei!" Despite her friendly tone, she slunk backwards a bit, almost intimidated by the other.

    • • - I KNOW WHERE THE GREENER GRASS GROWS, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO FOLLOW TO THE OTHER SIDE! - • •

    • A nod was given towards those who heard her and came over, her bright gaze sweeping over the Darkclanners with a smile before she spoke up, her petite body slightly leaning on one of her duffel bags as she absentmindedly fiddled with the zippers using telekinesis. "Nice to meet you all! The Skulls are doing well! We're going on a huge sailing trip soon, too!" That was one thing she was definitely excited for; what could sound more mysterious and fun-packed than a pirate expedition. Deciding to return the favor of their questions on their wellbeing, she continued, "And how is Darkclan doing?" She was supposed to do that, right? It seemed like the right thing to say in return, as well as being the only thing she could really follow up with.

    • • - I KNOW WHERE THE GREENER GRASS GROWS, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO FOLLOW TO THE OTHER SIDE! - • •

    • Wei had begun to decide that she could just sneak over here in the middle of the night to climb the pillars when a Colouredclanner arrived, her attention directed back towards him as he spoke. It was probably a good decision to not have made that jab at her name; her friendly demeanor could've been gone in an instant, or perhaps it would simply be laced with a sharp undertone of annoyance. Either option wasn't what was ideal for the feline as she attempted to stay energized and positive for all this travelling between allies. "No problem! The Skulls are doing well... how about here?" A customary return of the question, of course. She would rather listen than blabber on about every single event, whether it was minor or major, than was going on within the clan and her own daily life. Her gaze drifted to the male's bandages, a glint of concern making its way into her eyes. Whatever caused that really must've hurt, and those bandages didn't seem to be in the best condition... "Ah... are you alright...?" One paw waved in the general direction of his injuries as she spoke, a tone of sympathy covering up the underlying nervousness about asking in her voice.
